Connectors give the agent access to your business systems. They come in three shapes:
  • Tool connectors — live systems the agent reads and acts on: Shopify, Xero, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, GitHub, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Asana, Dropbox, Atlassian, and more.
  • Database connectors — query-through access to a database you run, with read-only verification before the agent can query without approval.
  • Data syncs — scheduled pulls that land data from a source into your organization’s queryable tables (managed from the Automations page).

Connecting

From the Connectors page, pick a provider and connect. OAuth providers walk you through the provider’s own consent screen — Fieldwork receives only the scopes you approve. Some providers support multiple resources under one authorization: connect several Xero organisations, for example, and pick which one a conversation works against.
Secrets never travel through chat. Where a connector needs a credential (an API key, a database password), you enter it in a write-only form on the Connectors page. The agent can ask you to connect something; it can never see or transmit the credential itself.

How the agent uses connectors

Connected tools appear to the agent automatically in your conversations. Reads — pulling orders, listing invoices, searching mail — run without ceremony. Actions that change something in the external system surface an approval card first, showing exactly what will be sent. Connector actions honor the same per-conversation auto-approve setting as everything else. If a provider’s authorization expires or is revoked, the connector shows as needing reconnection — reconnecting restores exactly what you re-authorize, nothing more.

Health and access

Each connector shows its live status on the Connectors page. Access is organization-scoped: connectors you add are usable by your organization’s members according to their roles, and every action the agent takes runs under the connected account’s actual permissions — Fieldwork can never do more than the access you granted.
